Description

This fast-paced adventure provides new, well-documented evidence that goes beyond The DaVinci Code in unveiling mysteries of the New Testament and Dead Sea Scrolls. The true secrets of Jesus, Mary Magdalene, the Grail Bloodline, and what happened after the crucifixion are revealed by a mystical troubadour determined to protect the Grailís descendants. An evil cardinal attempts to thwart his efforts, so the Church can continue distorting and suppressing important spiritual truths. The author has spent years researching the events on which this book is based, and the result is an intriguing, exciting, and engrossing combination of myth, history, and spirituality.

Reading Group Discussion Topics

1. Saramontus points out that on one level, we have to exist in a world of dualities. Does the concept of “dualities” help you understand the existence of evil and tragedy in the world?

2. Do the actions and attitudes of the people in Voices of the Living Grail provide us with any ideas for dealing with some of the difficult situations faced by civilization today?

3. King Merovech is distracted from his efforts to follow a contemplative spiritual path by the necessities of protecting his kingdom from outside invaders. What could humankind do to abolish warfare as a means of conflict resolution?

4. The Da Vinci Code addresses the possibility, startling to orthodox Christianity, that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were husband and wife. What even more startling possibilities does Voices of the Living Grail address?

5. The characters in Voices of the Living Grail represent a number of different spiritual paths. What are the common elements that tie these paths together? What separates them?

6. Saramontus and Penzinar spend quite a bit of time discussing the existence or nonexistence of Satan. If God is all powerful, can Satan really exist as a separate entity or concept?

7. Voices of the Living Grail makes a distinction between “magic” and “magick.” When the people in the story use “magick”, are they using it to enhance their own personal power, or are they using it to align themselves with a Divine purpose?

8. Birds play an important part in the story. What do the birds symbolize? The messenger birds? The hawks?

9. Psychoactive substances have been used for millennia to enhance spiritual experiences. Do you feel that these substances should be available to those who wish to use them for spiritual purposes?

10. Cardinal Penzinar is dedicated, but by most modern standards, seriously misguided. Do his actions and attitudes contribute to or detract from the spiritual development of the other characters in the novel?

11. In Voices of the Living Grail, what is the attitude of the Catholic Church toward women? Has this attitude changed much over the intervening centuries?
